Asian equity markets opened with positive note while China and Hong Kong markets to remain shut on holiday. U.S. equity index futures fell on after a Republican spending bill failed to pass through the Senate, setting the government up for a shutdown from midnight. U.S. President Donald Trump added fuel to the fire by threatening to fire more federal workers in the event of a shutdown.
