MUMBAI, 26 SEPTEMBER: Asian markets opened in the red zone on the back of weak cues from the western markets. Trump on Thursday evening announced a flurry of trade tariffs, most notably a 100% levy on all “branded and patented” pharma products. Trump also announced a 25% tariff on heavy trucks, a 50% tariff on kitchen and bathroom fittings, and a 30% tariff on upholstered furniture. U.S. stock index futures were flat amid a flurry of new trade tariffs from President Donald Trump, while anticipation of key upcoming inflation data also spurred caution.
