Mid-sized office spaces gain traction in Ahmedabad; Leasing more than doubles to 0.3 mn sq ft in H1 2026: Knight Frank

Ahmedabad, July 25, 2026: leasing activity in the 50,000–100,000 sq ft office space category in Ahmedabad witnessed significant growth during H1 2026, with transaction volumes increasing 121% YoY to 0.27 million square feet (mn sq ft) from 0.12 mn sq ft in H1 2025. Moreover, the share of mid-sized office transactions rose sharply from 15% to 33%, indicating that one-third of the total office space leased in Ahmedabad during H1 2026 comprised transactions in the 50,000–100,000 sq ft category, compared with 15% in the corresponding period last year. This trend points to a growing preference among occupiers for scalable office formats while maintaining operational flexibility. According to Knight Frank India, The average office deal size in Ahmedabad rose to 21,833 sq ft in H1 2026 as compared to 19,304 sq ft in H1 2025.
Ahmedabad’s office leasing profile shifted entirely towards sub-100,000 sq ft transactions in H1 2026. Small office transactions (below 50,000 sq ft) accounted for 67% of total leasing, while mid-sized offices (50,000–100,000 sq ft) contributed the remaining 33%, with no large office transactions recorded during the period.
