AHMEDABAD, 12 MARCH: Asian markets opened in the red zone as energy prices rebound while U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration launched a new trade investigation into excess industrial capacity in 16 major trading partners in a move to rebuild tariff pressure after the U.S. Supreme Court tore down the centerpiece of Trump’s tariff program last month.
U.S. stock index futures slipped as oil prices extended sharp gains, with fresh attacks on shipping near the Strait of Hormuz and the potential for further supply disruptions in global energy markets.
